How to make drum & bass on the KO II

A fast chopped breakbeat over a deep sub. Chop a break, rearrange the slices, and keep a heavy bassline underneath.

170-175 BPM · Fast break, half-time-feeling sub bass, energetic.

the steps

    Set DnB tempo.
    Hold TEMPO around 174 BPM.

    Chop a breakbeat.
    Sample a break, then CHOP it across the pads and re-sequence the slices into a fast pattern.

    Sequence the rearranged break.
    Step-sequence or live-record the chopped hits in Group A.
  4. 4
    Lay a deep sub.
    Put a sub-bass on a pad and play it in KEYS mode.
  5. 5
    Add weight and space.
    Use the compressor on the break and reverb on accents.
