How do I use DJ mode?

DJ mode lets you use the TX-6 as a two-channel DJ mixer, with dedicated controls for crossfading and cueing between two sources.

Entering DJ mode

Press and hold shift, then press the encoder to open the system menu. Scroll to DJ mode and select it.

How it works

In DJ mode, channels are paired into two groups. The crossfader controls the blend between the two sides, and you can use the cue output to pre-listen to an incoming track before bringing it into the mix.

Available features in DJ mode:

  • Crossfader to blend between sources
  • Cue output for headphone pre-listening
  • EQ controls per channel remain active
  • FX sends still available per channel

Cueing a track

Press the cue button on a channel to route it to the cue output. This lets you monitor and beatmatch privately before fading it in on the main output.

Exiting DJ mode

Return to the system menu via shift and the encoder, then select a different operating mode.

Note: the manual does not detail every DJ mode sub-option beyond what is described here. For full crossfader and cue behavior specifics, refer to the DJ mode section in the official teenage engineering guide at teenage.engineering/guides/tx-6.
