How do I use the Hold sequencer?

The Hold sequencer on the OP-1 Field lets you build up chords and melodic patterns by holding keys, with controls for pattern length, swing, and play mode.
Selecting the Hold sequencer
- 1.Press shift + sequencer to open the sequencer browser.
- 2.Turn the blue encoder to scroll to Hold in the list.
- 3.Tap the blue encoder or press sequencer again to enable it.
Using Hold
- 1.Press and hold keys on the keyboard to add notes to the pattern. Notes are stored as long as you hold them.
- 2.Use the blue encoder to move the cursor through the pattern.
- 3.Use the ochre encoder to adjust swing.
- 4.Use the gray encoder to set pattern length.
- 5.Press shift + gray to erase notes from the pattern.
Additional options
The Hold sequencer also offers these shifted controls:
- Break point setting
- Mono or poly mode toggle
- Pattern hold
- Transpose
- Clear
To toggle the sequencer on or off at any time, press the sequencer key. Note that the synth and drum modes each have their own separate sequencer memory, so you can have different sequences running independently across both modes.
