How do I use the Hold sequencer?
OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide
The Hold sequencer captures and loops whatever notes you play on the keyboard, letting you create instant repeating patterns without programming steps.
Basic Operation
Press the sequencer key, then SHIFT + Sequencer to browse and select Hold. The four encoders control your held pattern:
- Blue = break point (tap blue encoder to clear the pattern)
- Ochre = mono/poly playback mode
- Gray = transpose the pattern up or down
- Orange = hold toggle (enable/disable the sequencer)
Creating a Pattern
- 1.Enable the Hold sequencer by pressing the sequencer key
- 2.Play notes on the keyboard in the rhythm and timing you want
- 3.The sequencer captures and immediately starts looping your performance
- 4.Use the gray encoder to transpose the entire pattern to different pitches
- 5.Tap the blue encoder to clear and start over
Playback Modes
The ochre encoder switches between mono and poly modes, which affects how the held pattern responds when you play new notes over it.
