How do I record to tape?

Recording to tape is the core OP-1F workflow. Select your sound first, then capture it on one of the four tape tracks.
Set up your sound
- 1.Press synth or drum to enter the mode you want to record from.
- 2.Press keys 1-8 to select a preset sound or drum kit.
Record to tape
- 1.Press tape to enter tape mode.
- 2.Press a track key (T1, T2, T3, or T4) to select which track to record on. Find an empty spot on the tape.
- 3.Adjust your recording level and panning using the orange encoder.
- 4.Hold record and start playing notes on the keyboard, then press stop when you are done.
- 5.Use the left arrow key to rewind, then press play to listen back.
A few helpful notes
- You can layer sounds by repeating this process on different tracks.
- Each tape has 4 stereo tracks and 6 minutes of recording time per track.
- Data is saved automatically, so nothing is lost when you power off.
- Use lift to remove a take, and drop to place the last lifted take somewhere else on the tape.
