How do I record to tape?

Recording to tape on the OP-1 Field is straightforward. First select a sound in synth or drum mode, then press the tape key, choose a track, and hold record while playing.
Basic Recording Steps
- 1.Select your sound by pressing synth or drum and choosing a preset using keys 1-8
- 2.Press the tape key to enter tape mode
- 3.Press one of the track keys (T1, T2, T3, or T4) to select which track you want to record on
- 4.Adjust your recording level using the orange encoder (watch the level meter on screen)
- 5.Hold the record button and start playing on the keyboard
- 6.Press stop when you're finished recording
Additional Recording Tips
The OP-1 Field has 4 stereo tracks and gives you 6 minutes of recording time per tape at normal speed. You can have up to 8 different tapes in memory.
If you want to manually control tape position while recording, hold SHIFT + record to arm recording mode. This lets you move the tape manually using the blue encoder before you start playing.
You can also adjust the tape speed using the gray encoder in tempo mode, which affects both playback and recording speed.
