How do I use the Dimension synth?

OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide

The Dimension synth is a wavetable synthesizer that lets you morph through different waveforms and apply modulation and filtering for evolving, textured sounds.

Parameters

The four encoders control:

Blue = Waveform selection (choose from different wavetable shapes)

Ochre = Modulation (adds movement and variation to the selected waveform)

Gray = Filter cutoff (controls brightness by filtering high frequencies)

Orange = Filter resonance (emphasizes frequencies at the cutoff point)

How to Use

Start by selecting a waveform with the blue encoder. Turn the ochre encoder to add modulation, which morphs the waveform and creates evolving textures. Use the gray encoder to open or close the filter cutoff, controlling overall brightness. Add resonance with the orange encoder to emphasize the filter's sweet spot and create more pronounced tonal character.

For subtle, pad-like sounds, use moderate modulation with a lower filter cutoff. For aggressive, evolving leads, push the modulation higher and increase resonance while adjusting the cutoff to taste. The Dimension engine excels at atmospheric textures and slowly evolving soundscapes when paired with longer envelope attack times (set via T2).
