How do I use the accelerometer and gyroscope?

OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide

The G-force LFO lets you use the OP-1 Field's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope to modulate sound parameters by physically tilting or moving the device.

Setting up the G-force LFO

  1. 1.Press synth or drum to enter the relevant mode.
  2. 2.Press T4 to open the LFO screen.
  3. 3.Press shift + T4 to open the LFO browser.
  4. 4.Turn the blue encoder to scroll through the LFO types and select G-force.
  5. 5.Press T4 or tap the blue encoder to confirm.

Using G-force

Once active, tilting and shaking the OP-1 Field physically affects your chosen destination parameter. The available controls are:

  • Blue encoder: select the input source
  • Ochre encoder: set the modulation amount
  • Gray encoder: set the destination (synth engine, envelope, FX, or main)
  • Orange encoder: set the destination parameter

Tips

Try assigning G-force to filter cutoff or FX parameters for expressive, hands-on control during performance. As with all LFOs, you can toggle it on and off by pressing T4 again, so you can activate it only when you want that physical movement to affect your sound.
