How do I use the accelerometer and gyroscope?
OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide
The accelerometer and gyroscope are accessed through the Element LFO, which uses device tilt and movement to control synthesizer parameters in real-time.
Setting Up Element LFO
- 1.Press synth key to enter synth mode
- 2.Press T4 to add an LFO, then press SHIFT + T4 to browse LFO types
- 3.Select Element using the blue encoder
- 4.Set the blue encoder to G-force as your source (this activates the accelerometer and gyroscope)
Controlling Parameters
Once Element LFO is active with G-force selected:
- Blue encoder: Choose G-force as the modulation source
- Ochre encoder: Set the amount of modulation
- Gray encoder: Choose which parameter to control (filter cutoff, pitch, etc.)
- Orange encoder: Select the specific parameter within that destination
Press SHIFT while on the Element LFO screen to access additional parameter destinations.
Using It
Simply tilt and move your OP-1 Field while playing. The accelerometer detects orientation changes and the gyroscope tracks rotational movement. These physical movements will modulate whatever parameter you've assigned, creating expressive, gestural control over your sound. Try controlling filter cutoff for dramatic sweeps or pitch for subtle vibrato effects.
