How do I connect to a computer as an audio interface?

OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide

The OP-1 Field works as a USB-C audio interface in both host and device modes. Connect it to your computer via USB-C and it will be recognized automatically.

Audio Interface Modes

You can configure how many audio channels the OP-1 Field sends to your computer. Press SHIFT + tempo to access settings, then navigate to System settings.

Available USB audio modes:

  • 2-channel stereo only (main mix)
  • 8-channel (tape tracks 1-4 as separate stereo pairs)
  • 10-channel (main stereo mix plus tape tracks 1-4)

Using with Your DAW

Select OP-1 Field as your audio interface in your DAW's preferences. The device handles both audio input and output simultaneously. You can record directly to your computer while monitoring through the OP-1 Field's output.

Important Notes

If you experience ground loop noise when connected, press SHIFT + COM (output key), then press the orange encoder to disable USB charging. This often eliminates unwanted hum or buzz.

Always eject the device properly before disconnecting the USB cable to prevent data corruption.
