How do I change tempo and sync?
OP-1 Fieldtutorialguide
Press the tempo key to access tempo settings. You can adjust BPM, sync mode, tape speed, and metronome all from this screen.
Basic Tempo Control
The blue encoder sets BPM (40-240). For fine adjustments, hold SHIFT and turn the blue encoder. You can also nudge tempo up or down using the arrow keys, which is useful for jamming with other musicians.
Sync Modes
The ochre encoder selects your sync mode:
- Free: Internal clock with no sync sent or received. Metronome available.
- Beat Match: Internal clock sync where tempo is linked to tape speed.
- MIDI Sync: External clock via USB. The OP-1 Field detects and follows external tempo.
- PO Sync: Synchronizes with Pocket Operators. Left channel sends sync signal, right channel sends audio.
- 1/16 Sync: Hold SHIFT and press ochre while in PO mode. Sends 16th note pulse for modular gear.
Other Tempo Settings
The gray encoder controls tape speed. The orange encoder toggles the metronome on and off. Hold SHIFT and turn the ochre encoder to access PO sync and 1/16 sync options.
