How do I use the Supertone engine?
The Supertone engine provides 10 built-in synthesizer sounds including bass synths and dub sirens, perfect for creating classic reggae and dancehall tones without using sample memory.
Accessing Supertone
Hold SOUND, press the dot button, then use minus/plus to browse the 10 Supertone presets on pads 0-9. Each preset has two adjustable parameters controlled by KnobX and KnobY.
Playing and Recording
Once loaded onto a pad, play Supertone sounds just like regular samples. The pads are pressure-sensitive for Supertone sounds, meaning aftertouch modulates pitch or LFO depending on the preset. You can record these sounds into patterns using live or step recording.
Editing Parameters
In main mode, hold a Supertone pad and turn the knobs to adjust parameters in real time. Available parameter types vary per preset and include age, filter cutoff, filter resonance, unison, tone, length, sweep, LFO speed, and tune.
Saving Edits
Hold SHIFT + SOUND for 2 seconds to save your parameter changes. The display shows "SAV" when saved. These edits are project-specific.
Key Advantage
Supertone sounds are synthesized in real time and do not consume any of your 128 MB sample memory, making them ideal for adding bass and melodic elements while preserving storage for drums and vocals.
