The dub siren is one of 10 Supertone synth sounds built into the EP-40. Access it by holding SOUND, pressing the dot button, then pressing one of the pads 0-9 to select different Supertone presets.

Finding the dub siren

Supertone sounds include bass synths and dub sirens. Browse through pads 0-9 in Supertone mode to find the siren preset you want.

Playing and adjusting

Once loaded onto a pad, the siren is pressure-sensitive. Aftertouch modulates pitch or LFO depending on the preset. Each Supertone sound has two adjustable parameters on KnobX and KnobY. For sirens, these typically control sweep, LFO speed, or tone.

You can adjust parameters in real time during performance. In main mode, hold the pad with the siren sound loaded and turn the knobs to shape the sound live.

Saving your edits

To save parameter changes, hold SHIFT + SOUND for 2 seconds. The display shows "SAV" to confirm.

Recording the siren

Record it like any other sound. Press RECORD then PLAY for count-in and tap the pad, or use step sequencing by holding RECORD and pressing the pad at each step. The siren's pressure-sensitive response works during live recording.

Supertone sounds are synthesized in real time and don't consume any of your 128 MB sample memory.
