How does live mode work?
Live state lets you perform with your Riddim in a controlled way, restricting which buttons are active so you don't accidentally change things mid-performance. It also uses "vinyl time," meaning tempo changes slow or speed up samples in pitch rather than stretching them.
Entering live state
Press sound and main together to enter live state. The live state icon will light up on the display to confirm you are in it.
What changes in live state
Once inside, live state works just like main mode, except any buttons you have disabled will not respond. If you press a disabled button, the two dots on the display will blink to let you know.
Tempo changes are also temporary. Any adjustments you make to tempo in live state will revert when you return to main mode.
Vinyl tempo
Start your track in live state, then go to tempo and change the BPM while it is playing. Instead of time-stretching, samples will slow down or speed up like a record, changing pitch along with speed. This is a great performance effect.
Enabling and disabling buttons
Press shift and eraser to open system settings, then navigate to LIV using minus and plus. Press the enter pad, then navigate through the available options to turn individual buttons and features on or off. Almost every button can be disabled, including the fader, except for the pads, group pads, and the X and Y knobs.
