The EP-40 Riddim is organized into projects, scenes, groups, and patterns. Start by creating a new project, loading sounds into groups, and recording or sequencing your first beat.

Create a New Project

Hold Main and press a pad numbered 1-9. Projects 6-9 are empty on new units.

Load Sounds

Press Sound, select Group A and a pad, then use minus/plus to scroll through sounds. The default organization is: kicks 1-99, snares 100-199, hi-hats 200-299, percussion 300-399, bass 400-499, melodic 500-599.

For the 10 built-in Supertone synth sounds (bass, sirens, leads), hold Sound, press the dot button, then use minus/plus to browse presets on pads 0-9.

Organize Your Groups

A common setup is: Group A for drums, Group B for bass, Group C for melodies, Group D for loops and samples.

Record a Beat

Press Main to enter main mode. Tap Record, then Play for a count-in. Hit pads to play sounds. Press Play to stop everything, or Record to stop recording but keep playing.

To change pattern length, hold Record and press Plus (default is 1 bar).

Add More Parts

Switch to Group B, select a bass sound, press Keys for keyboard mode, and record the same way. Repeat for Group C with melodic sounds.

Sample Audio

Press Sample, hold a pad to record from the mic or line input.

Add Effects

Press FX, move the fader up, and use minus/plus to switch effects. Hold FX and press pads for punch-in effects.

Save Your Progress

Press Shift + Main to commit. This saves your current arrangement as a scene.
