How do I use the metronome?

The EP-40 has a built-in metronome for recording. By default it only plays during recording, but you can change this in system settings.

Adjust metronome volume

Press tempo to open tempo mode, then turn knob Y to set the metronome volume.

Change when the metronome plays

  1. 1.Press shift and eraser to open system settings.
  2. 2.Press minus or plus to navigate to the sequencer settings, then press enter.
  3. 3.Press minus or plus to navigate to "met", then press enter.
  4. 4.Press minus or plus to choose your preferred mode: - on, metronome plays during both record and playback - rec, metronome plays during recording only (default) - cnt, metronome plays during count-in only
  5. 5.Press enter to confirm your choice.
  6. 6.Press main to return to main mode.

Hear the metronome

Press play to start playback. If you set the metronome to "on", you will hear it tick along. If set to "rec", press record then play to hear it during the four beat count-in and recording session.
