To erase a pattern on the EP-40, hold the erase button and the relevant group pad until PTN blinks on the screen.

What gets erased

When you erase a pattern, the recorded notes for that group's current pattern are cleared. If you have multiple groups active, you can erase each group's pattern individually.

Steps to erase a pattern

  1. 1.Make sure you are in main mode. Press main if you are not already there.
  2. 2.Select the group whose pattern you want to delete by pressing Group A, Group B, Group C, or Group D.
  3. 3.Hold erase and the group pad (for example Group A) until PTN blinks on the screen. The pattern is now cleared.

Other useful erase options

  • To erase a single pad's notes within a pattern, hold erase and press the pad until TRK blinks.
  • To erase notes during playback, hold erase and press the pad you want to clear while the pattern is playing.
  • If you make a mistake, press shift and Group B to undo.
