How do I use loopable samples (LOP)?
Loop play mode lets you set a sample to run continuously in the background, staying in time with your project. Unlike one-shot samples, loops are always running and cannot be recorded directly to the sequencer, so you use a special startup sequence to trigger them.
Setting a pad to loop mode
- 1.Press sound to enter sound mode, then select the group and pad you want.
- 2.Press shift and sound to enter sound edit mode.
- 3.Use minus and plus to navigate to the sound edit screen, where knob x controls the play mode.
- 4.Turn knob x until the play mode shows loop.
Keeping loops in time
If you change tempo, enable time stretch in the time edit screen so the loop stays in sync. Navigate to the time section with minus and plus in sound edit, then set the time stretch mode with knob x.
Saving loops to a pattern with the loop startup sequence
Because loops cannot be recorded to the sequencer, you save their state using the loop startup sequence (LSS).
- 1.Set each loop pad to the muted or unmuted state you want when the pattern starts.
- 2.Hold the group pad and record for two seconds until LSS then SAV appears on screen.
Now whenever that pattern loads, the loops will trigger automatically on the first beat.
Mute groups with loops
You can add loop pads to a mute group so that triggering one loop chokes the others, letting you swap between loops cleanly during a performance.
