Keys mode lets you play a selected sound chromatically across all 12 pads, like a mini keyboard. Press KEYS while a pad is selected to activate it.

Activating Keys Mode

Press KEYS after selecting a pad in your current group. The pads now play the sound at different pitches arranged chromatically.

Changing the Octave

Hold KEYS and press minus or plus to shift the octave range up or down.

Changing the Root Note

Hold KEYS and select a different pad. This transposes the entire keyboard to start from that pad's sound.

Recording in Keys Mode

You can record chromatically played notes into your pattern. Hold RECORD and press a pad to add individual notes to steps. For live recording, press RECORD then PLAY and perform on the pads.

Changing the Scale

By default, keys mode uses 12-tone chromatic tuning. Access SHIFT + ERASE, navigate to pad settings, then select sca to choose different scales like major, minor, dorian, pentatonic, and others.

Using with MIDI Keyboards

Connect a MIDI keyboard via the 3.5mm MIDI port or USB-C. Press KEYS to enable chromatic control from your external keyboard.
