The EP-40 can sync with Pocket Operators in two directions, depending on which device you want as the master clock.

Sync Pocket Operator to Riddim (Riddim is master)

Connect the EP-40's sync out to the PO's audio input using a 3.5mm cable. Set the Pocket Operator to SY1 mode. On the EP-40, go to system settings and configure sync out: press SHIFT + ERASE, navigate to sync settings, select OUT, then choose code 210 for 1/8 sync.

Sync Riddim to Pocket Operator (PO is master)

You'll need a TRS to 2x TS splitter cable. Connect the PO's right channel to the EP-40's line input and the PO's left channel to the EP-40's sync input. Set the Pocket Operator to SY1 mode. On the EP-40, go to system settings: press SHIFT + ERASE, navigate to sync settings, select IN, then choose code 200 for 1/8 sync.

Both devices use 1/8 note sync intervals when working together. The EP-40 can also handle 1/16 and sync24 (vintage drum machines), but Pocket Operators work best with 1/8 timing.
