Chopping splits a sample into smaller slices that you can trigger across the pads. This is useful for drum breaks, vocals, or melodic samples.

Enter chop mode

Press SHIFT + SAMPLE. The pads will blink, ready for chopping.

Choose your method

Auto-chop uses beat detection to automatically divide the sample. Press minus or plus to adjust the number of slices. Turn KnobX and KnobY to fine-tune slice start and end points.

Live-chop lets you manually set slice points. Press PLAY to start the sample, then tap pads during playback wherever you want to create a slice. Your timing determines where the cuts happen.

Assign to a group

Select which group (Group A, Group B, Group C, or Group D) should receive the slices. The chopped pieces will be automatically distributed across the 12 pads.

Refine your slices

After chopping, select any pad and use KnobX to adjust the slice start point and KnobY for the end point. Hold SHIFT while turning the knobs for finer control.

Press MAIN to exit chop mode and start playing your slices.
