The CM-15 connects directly to your camera's audio input using the 3.5mm mini jack output on the bottom of the microphone.

Setup

  1. 1.Power on the CM-15 using the power switch
  2. 2.Connect a stereo 3.5mm cable from the CM-15's mini jack output to your camera's mic input
  3. 3.Set the pad/gain switch based on your recording situation (center position works for most scenarios)
  4. 4.Monitor your camera's audio levels and adjust the CM-15's gain switch if needed

Important Notes

The mini jack output provides a line level, dual mono signal where both the tip and ring carry identical audio. Use a standard stereo cable for this connection.

Never connect the CM-15's mini jack to a camera input that has phantom power active. This could damage the microphone. Camera mic inputs typically don't have phantom power, but verify before connecting.

The CM-15 can run on its internal battery for about 10 hours, making it ideal for extended shoots without needing external power or cables beyond the audio connection to your camera.
