The CM-15 is designed as part of Teenage Engineering's field system, a family of portable, compatible devices built around aluminum casings and nylon bag accessories. It connects easily with other field system products for recording and mixing on the go.

Connecting to other field system devices

The mini jack line output is specifically suited for portable, battery-powered setups with devices like the TX-6 mixer or OB-4 speaker. It outputs a dual mono signal, so both tip and ring carry the same audio, making it flexible for stereo or mono inputs.

The USB-C port lets the CM-15 work as a digital audio interface when connected to devices like the OP-1 field, showing up as a single-input interface as long as the unit is powered on.

Power flexibility in the field

The CM-15 can run on its internal 10-hour battery, USB-C power, or 48V phantom power from a connected preamp or console, switching between sources automatically. This makes it easy to keep recording without interruption across different setups.

Recommended accessories

The tripod mini stand (sold separately) is purpose-built for the CM-15, allowing you to tilt the mic up to 110 degrees backward or 90 degrees forward. The included quarter-inch and three-eighths-inch adapter also makes it compatible with standard microphone stands and tripods.

For outdoor field use, a windscreen is recommended, and the compact aluminum casing is designed to travel safely alongside other field system gear.
