How do I use the TP-7 with TX-6?
The TP-7 can be used with the TX-6 for multitrack mixdown, allowing you to record a mix directly from the TX-6 into the TP-7. The two devices work together over a wired connection.
Connecting the devices
The manual references a mixdown workflow with the TX-6. To use them together, connect the TX-6's output to the TP-7's input using the appropriate cable. Make sure both devices are powered off before connecting, then power them on after the cable is in place.
Mixdown with TX-6
The TP-7 includes a dedicated mixdown mode designed for use with the TX-6. In this workflow:
- The TX-6 handles mixing and routing of your audio sources
- The TP-7 records the resulting stereo or multitrack output
- You can control mix volumes per channel via MIDI CC 7 on channels 1 through 6
- Input gain for channels 1 through 3 can be adjusted via MIDI CC 9
MIDI control
The TP-7 can receive MIDI messages that map directly to TX-6 channel functions:
- CC 7 (channels 1-6) controls mix volume
- CC 9 (channels 1-3) controls input gain
- CC 120 (channels 1-6) handles mute on/off
