What is the field system?

The field system is Teenage Engineering's collection of ultra-portable professional audio devices designed for mobile recording and production work.

System Components

The field system includes the TP-7 digital tape recorder, TX-6 portable mixer, and OP-1 Field synthesizer/workstation. These devices are designed to work together seamlessly while remaining fully functional as standalone units.

Integration Features

All field system devices share common design principles: compact size, professional audio quality, and extensive connectivity options. The TP-7 can connect directly to the TX-6 via USB for multitrack mixdown sessions, where you can apply the TX-6's EQ and effects while mixing down recordings. Similarly, the OP-1 Field can connect through the TP-7's configurable input/output jacks for recording synthesizer sessions.

Portability Philosophy

The field system emphasizes battery-powered operation, multiple connectivity options (USB-C, Bluetooth LE, analog), and professional features in ultra-portable formats. Each device can run for approximately 7 hours on battery power, making them suitable for field recording, outdoor sessions, or any situation where traditional studio setups aren't practical.
