How do I start recording on the TP-7?

The TP-7 uses a simple rocker and button workflow to start recording. Press rec to arm the recorder, then press play to begin capturing audio.
Basic recording steps
- 1.Make sure your input source is configured in the settings menu.
- 2.Press rec to enter record-ready mode. The unit will be armed but not yet recording.
- 3.Press play to start recording. The tape reel will begin spinning and the VU meters will show your input levels.
- 4.Press stop to end the recording when finished.
Quick tips
- Check your input gain before recording to avoid clipping or a signal that is too quiet.
- The TP-7 supports memo recording for quick voice notes, which can be started more directly using the memo button.
- You can monitor your levels via the LED VU meters before committing to a take.
If you want hands-free or automatic recording, look into the cue rec mode, which can be enabled and will start recording automatically when a signal is detected.
