Audio scrubbing on the TP-7 lets you manually navigate through recordings by physically moving the tape reel or pressing the side rocker. You can hear the audio as you move, making it easy to find specific moments or DJ-style scratch effects.

Using the Tape Reel

Rotate the motorized tape reel clockwise or counter-clockwise to scrub through your recording. The audio plays back at variable speeds as you move the reel. Hold the reel still to pause playback at any point.

Using the Side Rocker

Press down on the right side of the rocker for fast forward (reel spins clockwise) or the left side for rewind (counter-clockwise). This provides quick navigation through longer recordings.

Scrubbing While Recording

You can scrub during recording sessions in edit mode. Toggle edit mode by pressing record + stop. Use the tape reel to set your in-point, then press record to arm and play to start. This is useful for punch-in recording or overdubs.

DJ Applications

The tape reel's motorized design makes it ideal for DJ-style scratching and scrubbing. Combine this with the varispeed utility (accessed via up/down buttons) to adjust playback speed while scrubbing. Press plus/minus to nudge the speed, and use the mode button to toggle between fine and coarse adjustment.
