Connect the TP-7 to your computer using a USB-C cable. The TP-7 acts as a USB audio class 1 compliant device, functioning as a multi-channel audio interface with up to 6 stereo channels in/out depending on your connected hardware.

USB-C Functions

The USB-C port on the right side of the TP-7 provides several functions:

  • Multi-channel audio interface for recording and playback
  • MIDI control (send and receive MIDI data)
  • File transfer between TP-7 and computer
  • Firmware updates
  • Battery charging (5V only)

For Audio Interface

Simply connect the cable and select TP-7 as your audio device in your recording software. The TP-7 appears as a class compliant device, requiring no drivers on most systems.

For File Transfer

Connect via USB-C and the TP-7's storage becomes accessible. You can drag and drop recordings to your computer or transfer files to the TP-7.

For Firmware Updates

Visit teenage.engineering/apps/update in a compatible browser while connected. Alternatively, hold the mode button while powering on to enter bootloader mode, then connect and follow the on-screen instructions.

For Charging

Connect to any 5V USB power source. The top LED shows charging status: solid red while charging, solid white when fully charged, flashing red when critically low.
