How do I use Bluetooth on the TP-7?
The TP-7 uses Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) for wireless connection to the companion transcription app on your phone.
Enabling Bluetooth
Access Bluetooth settings through the system menu. Hold the mode button to open settings, then navigate to BLE (Bluetooth) using the tape reel. You can enable or disable Bluetooth here.
Connection Modes
The TP-7 has two Bluetooth modes:
- Device mode: The TP-7 accepts connections from other devices like your phone
- Scan mode: The TP-7 actively searches for nearby Bluetooth devices to connect to
Use the tape reel to select your preferred mode.
Using the Companion App
Once Bluetooth is enabled in device mode, open the free companion transcription app on your phone. The app will detect your TP-7 and allow you to send recordings wirelessly. The app transcribes your audio to text and lets you export via email.
Note on Audio
Bluetooth on the TP-7 is specifically for the companion app and file transfer. It does not support Bluetooth audio streaming. For audio input and output, use the physical jacks or the USB-C connection, which supports multi-channel audio interface functionality.
