Overdubbing on the TP-7 lets you record new audio on top of existing recordings without erasing what's already there. This is useful for layering vocals, instruments, or sound effects onto your existing tracks.

Enable Overdub Mode

Press record + stop to toggle edit mode. Once in edit mode, hold record + down to toggle between overdub (DUB) and overwrite (WRITE) modes. Make sure DUB is selected for overdubbing.

Set Your Recording Point

Scrub the tape reel to find where you want to start overdubbing. This sets your in-point.

Start Overdubbing

  1. 1.Press record to arm the track (LED flashes)
  2. 2.Press play to start recording
  3. 3.While playing, press record to toggle recording on and off as needed
  4. 4.Use plus/minus to select which track you want to overdub onto

The original audio remains intact while your new recording is layered on top. You can switch between tracks during the same recording session using plus/minus.
