How do I use the pitchbend as modulation?
OP-XYtutorialguide
You can route the pitchbend to modulate any synth parameter instead of (or in addition to) pitch. This is set up per track in the preset settings.
Set the pitchbend target and amount
- 1.Press instrument and select a track.
- 2.Hold shift and press instrument to open preset settings.
- 3.Rotate the dark gray knob to select "mod."
- 4.Rotate the mid gray knob to select "pitchbend target."
- 5.Use the light gray knob to choose the destination parameter you want the pitchbend to modulate.
- 6.Rotate the mid gray knob to select "pitchbend amount."
- 7.Rotate the light gray knob to set how much modulation is applied. You can set a negative value to invert the modulation.
Disable pitch modulation from the pitchbend
If you want the pitchbend to control only your chosen parameter and not affect pitch, press M2 to jump to the envelope module, then hold shift and rotate the light gray knob counter-clockwise to set the pitchbend pitch modulation to off.
A few notes
- This setting applies only to the track you configured it on, but you can repeat the process on other tracks with different destinations.
- You can save the track as a preset to preserve these pitchbend settings for future use.
- The pitchbend is pressure sensitive, bending down when pressed on the left side and up on the right.
