The OP-XY makes it easy to get started with step sequencing. Select a note on the keyboard, then press steps on the sequencer to record that note to those positions.

Select your track and note

Press instrument to enter instrument mode, then press one of the track buttons (1-8) to choose a track. Press a key on the musical keyboard to select a note. The OP-XY will remember the last note you played.

Place notes on the sequencer

Press any step button on the sequencer row. The step lights up to confirm a note has been recorded. Keep pressing steps to build your pattern.

Play it back

Press play to hear your sequence. Press stop when you are done listening.

Check or edit a step

Hold any lit step to see which note is recorded there. While holding the step, press a key on the keyboard to add or remove notes from that step.

Record chords

Hold multiple keys down at once, then press a step to record a chord to it. You can also hold a step and play multiple keys to add notes to it.

Extend note length

Hold a step and press a second step further along the sequencer. The note will hold until that second step.

Add more bars

If you need a longer pattern, hold bar and press + to add another bar. Up to four bars are available, giving you more steps to fill.
