How do I sample a sound on the OP-XY?
Sampling on the OP-XY is straightforward. Press Sample (top right, waveform icon) to enter the sampling interface. You can record up to 20 seconds per sample.
Basic Sampling Steps
- 1.Turn the dark grey encoder to select your input source (mic, headset, line in, USB, or main output).
- 2.Use the light grey encoder to adjust gain and the white encoder to set threshold if needed.
- 3.Hold M1 to start recording. Release to stop.
- 4.Press M2 to preview your sample, or M4 to delete it.
Sampler Types
After recording, you can use your sample in different ways:
One Shot Synth Sampler: Press a key to record and set the tuning note. Good for melodic samples you want to play across the keyboard.
Drum Sampler: Records up to 24 one-shot samples across the keyboard. Press a key to select it, then hold M1 to record to that slot.
Multisampler: Records across multiple keyboard zones (up to 24). Press keys from left to right to automatically create zones.
You can also slice drum samples by holding a key and pressing M1, then choosing between transient, even, or tap slicing modes.
All recorded samples appear in the sample folder for reuse in any project.
