How do I use the multisampler?
OP-XYtutorialguide
The multisampler lets you record multiple samples across the keyboard, creating zones that are automatically filled in by pitch-shifting neighboring samples downward to cover gaps.
Recording samples
- 1.Press instrument and select a track that uses the multisampler engine.
- 2.Press a key on the musical keyboard to select it. It will light up, ready to record.
- 3.Hold M1 to record a sample to that key. As you add samples from left to right, OP-XY automatically creates zones and fills gaps by pitching samples down.
- 4.Repeat for as many keys as you need. The multisampler supports a maximum of 24 zones, enough for around 3 samples per octave.
Navigating recorded samples
Press M2 to move to the previous recorded key, or M3 to move to the next one. These only move through keys that have samples recorded to them.
Press M4 to clear a sample from a key. This removes the assignment but does not delete the sample from the sample folder.
Editing a sample
Once recorded, you can edit each sample's parameters:
- Dark gray encoder: sample start point (click to fine-adjust)
- Mid gray encoder: loop start point (click to fine-adjust)
- Light gray encoder: loop end point (click to fine-adjust)
- White encoder: sample end point (click to fine-adjust)
Shift functions while editing
- Hold shift and rotate dark gray: sample playback direction (forwards or backwards)
- Hold shift and rotate mid gray: pan
- Hold shift and rotate light gray: loop crossfade amount
- Hold shift and rotate white: sample gain
- Hold shift and click light gray: loop type (loop forever, loop until release, or loop off)
