How do I use the Hold player?
OP-XYtutorialguide
The Hold player is one of the simplest players on the OP-XY. It holds whatever notes you play until the next note is played, making it great for sustained basses and chords.
Enabling the Hold player
- 1.Press instrument and select the track you want to use.
- 2.Press players to open the player on that track.
- 3.Press players again to enable it.
- 4.Hold shift and press players to change the player style until Hold is selected.
Using Hold
Once enabled, play any note or chord on the keyboard and it will sustain without you needing to keep the keys held down. Playing a new note or chord will replace the previous one.
To stop all held notes, either press stop or disable Hold by pressing the players button.
Things to note
- Hold works great for pad and chord tracks where you want notes to ring out freely
- You can still sequence notes on the step sequencer while Hold is active
- Parameter locks and step components work normally alongside the Hold player
