How do I use Bluetooth MIDI?
Bluetooth MIDI on the OP-XY lets you connect wirelessly to other compatible devices, sending and receiving notes and clock without any cables.
Advertising the OP-XY over Bluetooth MIDI
Press com to open the com screen, then rotate or click the dark gray knob to advertise the OP-XY over Bluetooth MIDI.
Connecting from the other device
On the device you want to connect to (such as a computer, tablet, or another synth), follow that device's procedure for discovering and connecting to a Bluetooth MIDI device. The OP-XY will appear as an available device.
What you can do with Bluetooth MIDI
Once connected, the OP-XY can send and receive notes and clock with the paired device. This makes it useful as a wireless controller or for syncing to a host device.
Managing connected devices
After pairing, you can press M3 in the com screen to open the devices view. Here you can enable or disable clock, notes, and other MIDI data being sent to and received from connected devices. Press M2 to forget a device if you no longer need it paired.
Tips
- The OP-XY acts as a device (not a host) in Bluetooth MIDI connections, so the other device must be capable of acting as a Bluetooth MIDI host.
- You can also connect a MIDI keyboard or controller via USB-C for a wired alternative.
