How do I sample a sound on the OP-XY?

Sampling on the OP-XY:

Access the sampler: 1. Press the sound button 2. Navigate to sampler engine 3. Select the track for sampling

Input options:

  • Line input — 3.5mm audio input
  • USB audio — From computer/device
  • Internal — Resample OP-XY output

Record a sample: 1. Set input source 2. Press record in sampler mode 3. Audio captures while record is held 4. Release to stop

After sampling:

  • Sample loads to current track
  • Play via step sequencer or keys
  • Adjust start/end points
  • Set loop on/off

Sample editing:

  • Start point: Where sample begins playing
  • End point: Where sample stops
  • Loop: Sample repeats between points
  • Pitch: Transpose the sample

Assigning samples:

  • Each track can have one sound/sample
  • Samples pitch-shift across notes
  • Use chromatic mode for melodic sampling

Tips:

  • Sample drum breaks for chopped patterns
  • Sample synth patches from external gear
  • Resample OP-XY output with effects
  • Keep samples short to save memory

Sample management:
