The Brain is OP-XY's intelligent transposition system on Auxiliary Track 1. It automatically detects the key signature of your music and transposes notes from routed tracks to stay in key.

Setup

  1. 1.Press Auxiliary and select Track 1
  2. 2.Press M1 to configure the scale. The dark grey encoder toggles between manual and auto detection
  3. 3.Use M2 to route instrument tracks through the Brain. Add or remove tracks as needed

How It Works

When you route tracks through the Brain, it analyzes the musical content and determines the key signature. Any notes you play on routed tracks will automatically transpose to fit the detected key and scale.

Quick Workflow Tip

For fast songwriting, create a simple drum beat first. The Brain will auto-detect your key. Then play notes on any track routed through the Brain. The system handles transposition automatically, letting you focus on melody and rhythm without worrying about wrong notes.

Scale Settings

Press M1 to view or edit the scale manually. The mid grey encoder selects the root key, light grey chooses the scale type, and white links tracks together. You can switch between automatic detection and manual scale selection using the dark grey encoder.
