The Brain is an intelligent transposition tool that automatically detects the key and scale of your song, then lets you transpose your tracks in real time by playing notes on the keyboard.

Where to find it

Press auxiliary then select track 1 to open the Brain.

Setting it up

Press M1 to view and edit the scale. You can switch between automatic key detection and manual key input by rotating the dark gray knob. Use the mid gray knob to select the key, the light gray knob to select the scale, and the white knob to link instrument tracks.

Routing tracks through the Brain

Press M2 to open the routing module. Rotate the encoders to add or remove tracks from the Brain's routing. Click any encoder to switch between tracks 1-4 and 5-8. Only routed tracks will be transposed, and only routed tracks affect the automatic key detection.

Playing with the Brain

Once tracks are routed, play notes on the keyboard while in the Brain track to transpose those tracks live. You can also sequence those transpositions into the step sequencer just like any other track.

Quick songwriting tip

Set the track scale to 4 by holding bar and pressing the C# accidental key. This slows playback to four times, letting you sequence four bars of chord changes in one pass. The Brain handles all the transposition, so even a simple one or two note bassline will follow your chord progressions automatically.
