How do I create a song with scenes?
OP-XYtutorialguide
Creating songs with scenes lets you build complete arrangements by chaining together different pattern combinations.
Understanding the Structure
Each scene stores which patterns are playing on all tracks, plus their volumes and mutes. Scenes can be up to 99 in total. A song is an arrangement of these scenes played in sequence, and you can have up to 9 songs per project.
Creating and Arranging Scenes
- 1.Build your patterns on different tracks using the sequencer.
- 2.Hold Arrange and press keyboard keys to select scenes 1-99.
- 3.Hold a track button and press SHIFT plus keyboard keys to assign different patterns to that scene.
- 4.Press SHIFT and M1 to create a new scene with your current pattern arrangement.
Building the Song
- 1.Enter song mode by holding SHIFT in Arrange mode, then press Arrange again.
- 2.Use SHIFT and M2 or M3 to navigate between scenes and add them to your song in the order you want.
- 3.Press the dark grey encoder to enable or disable song looping.
- 4.Use SHIFT and M4 to delete scenes from the song if needed.
You can create up to 14 different songs per project by holding SHIFT and pressing natural keys to select different song slots. Use M2 and M3 to copy and paste entire songs between slots.
