Why does my sample cut off in song mode?
KO IItutorialguide
In song mode, each scene plays for the duration of the longest pattern in that scene. If your sample is longer than that pattern, it will be cut off when the song advances to the next scene position.
The most common causes
- Your sample's pattern is shorter than the sample's actual audio length. The song moves on before the sample finishes playing.
- The sample is set to oneshot play mode, which plays the whole sample, but the pattern ends before it finishes.
- Mismatched pattern lengths across groups in the same scene. Song mode uses the longest pattern, so a short pattern containing your sample will cut early if another group's pattern is shorter than the sample runtime.
How to fix it
- 1.Press SOUND, select the pad with the sample, then press SHIFT and SOUND to enter sound edit.
- 2.Use MINUS and PLUS to navigate to the trim settings and confirm the sample end point is where you expect it.
- 3.Press MAIN, then hold RECORD and press PLUS to extend the pattern length for the group containing that sample until it covers the full sample duration.
- 4.If the sample needs to loop, consider setting the release in the envelope edit to sustain through the pattern length.
Also note that song mode stops when it reaches the end of the song list as of OS 2.0.
