How do patterns and scenes work?

Patterns are the recorded sequences within a single group (A, B, C, or D). When you press record and tap pads, you're creating a pattern for that group. Each group can hold up to 99 different patterns, and you can switch between them using the plus/minus buttons while holding the group button.

Scenes are snapshots of all four groups playing together. One scene contains the currently selected pattern for each group, plus all their settings (sounds, effects, fader positions). Think of scenes as different sections of your song, like verse, chorus, or breakdown.

How patterns work

Each group operates independently with its own pattern. Switch patterns by holding a group button and pressing plus/minus. You can also type a pattern number directly: hold the group button and type on the pads.

Patterns can be 1-99 bars long. Adjust length by holding record and pressing plus/minus. You can even change pattern length during playback by holding record while adjusting.

How scenes work

Your project holds up to 99 scenes. Switch scenes by holding main and pressing plus/minus, or hold main and type a number on the pads.

When you press shift + main (commit), you save your current arrangement as a scene and create a new duplicate scene. This lets you build variations without losing your previous work.

Scene change timing

By default, scenes switch immediately. Change this in system settings (shift + erase): option 410 = immediate, 411 = change at bar end, 412 = change at pattern end.
