Making your first beat is straightforward. Start by loading sounds into pads, then record your patterns by tapping pads in time with the metronome.

Load your sounds

  1. 1.Press SOUND to enter sound mode.
  2. 2.Select Group A for drums.
  3. 3.Press a pad, then use minus/plus to scroll through sounds. Kicks are 1-99, snares 100-199, hi-hats 200-299.
  4. 4.Repeat for other pads. Build a drum kit across the 12 pads.

Record your pattern

  1. 1.Press MAIN to return to main mode.
  2. 2.Tap RECORD, then PLAY to start recording with a count-in.
  3. 3.Hit pads in time with the metronome to create your rhythm.
  4. 4.Press PLAY to stop recording.

Extend your pattern

Hold RECORD and press PLUS to extend the pattern length beyond the default 1 bar.

Add more instruments

  1. 1.Switch to Group B for bass sounds (400-499).
  2. 2.Press KEYS to enable chromatic keyboard mode across the pads.
  3. 3.Record another pattern the same way.
  4. 4.Repeat for Group C (melodic sounds 500-599) and Group D (loops/samples).

Save your work

Press SHIFT + MAIN to commit. This saves your current arrangement as a scene and creates a duplicate for further experimentation.
