What do the error codes mean?

The KO II displays error codes on its screen when something goes wrong. Most errors fall into two categories: hardware faults and file-system errors.

Hardware errors

These require a repair and cannot be fixed by the user:

  • E.01, sram error
  • E.02, flash error
  • E.03, codec error

File-system errors

These can be fixed by formatting the device. Power it off, then hold shift and erase while turning it back on. This will erase all sounds and patterns, so update to the latest firmware afterward:

  • E.10, LFS invalid
  • E.11, LFS corrupt
  • E.12, other LFS error
  • E.05, sample file-system error

A note on formatting

Formatting removes all your work and factory sounds. Factory sounds cannot be recovered once deleted, so only format as a last resort for file-system errors.
