How do I use song mode?

Song mode lets you chain scenes together in a set order so your KO II can play through a full song automatically. You build a song list of up to 99 positions, each holding a scene.

Entering the song list editor

Hold MAIN then press ENTER to open the song list editor. The screen shows the current song position number.

Navigating song positions

Press + to move to the next song position, or − to go to the previous one.

Adding scenes to the song list

Hold SHIFT and press Group A to add a new scene to the song list.

Changing which scene plays at a position

Hold SHIFT and press − or + to switch the scene assigned to the current song position.

Cutting and inserting scenes

Hold SHIFT and press pad 3 (the C pad) to cut the current scene. Hold SHIFT and press pad 0 (the D pad) to insert a scene at the selected position.

Playing the song

Press PLAY to play from the current song position. Press SHIFT and PLAY to play from the very beginning.

The song will stop when it reaches the end. The length of each song position matches the longest pattern in that scene. Combined with patterns up to 99 bars long, you can create arrangements up to 9,801 bars.
