How do I use note repeat?
Note repeat lets you hold a button to trigger a pad repeatedly at the current note interval, making it easy to record hi-hats and other rhythmic parts quickly.
Basic note repeat
Hold timing and press a pad to trigger note repeat for that pad. It will repeat at the rate set by the note interval.
Held note repeat
Press timing first, then hold shift and press a pad to latch the note repeat so it keeps going hands-free. To stop it, repeat the same combination with the same pad.
Changing the repeat rate
The note interval controls how fast the repeat fires. Press timing and turn knob X to change the interval. Options include 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/16T, and 1/32. A faster interval like 1/16 gives you a rapid hi-hat roll, while 1/4 gives a slower pulse.
Recording note repeat
To record with a count-in, tap record then play and perform the note repeat live into the pattern.
Velocity sensitivity
If velocity is enabled in system settings, note repeat is pressure sensitive, so pressing harder on the pad will trigger louder hits.
Tips
- Use held note repeat on a hi-hat while you focus on playing kick and snare with your other hand.
- Note repeat rate 1/1 is useful for playing back a sampled loop in time.
