How do I use keys mode?
Keys mode lets you play a single sample chromatically across all 12 pads, like a keyboard. You can also use a connected MIDI keyboard to play the same way.
Activating keys mode
Press KEYS to enter keys mode. The pads will become a keyboard with the chosen sample transposed across a scale.
Changing octave
Hold KEYS and press − or + to shift the octave up or down. If you go past the highest octave, the notes from the same octave repeat so you can keep playing.
Transposing the scale
Hold KEYS and press a pad to transpose the scale to a different root note.
Recording in keys mode
To record a note to a step, hold RECORD and press the pad you want on that step. For live recording, press RECORD then PLAY and play your notes into the pattern.
Erasing notes
Hold ERASE and press the pad for the note you want to remove.
Changing the scale
The default scale is 12-tone equal temperament. To change it, press SHIFT and ERASE to open system settings, navigate to pad settings, then to "sca", and choose from options including major, minor, dorian, pentatonic, and more. Press MAIN to exit when done.
