How do I quantize my recordings?

Quantize snaps your recorded notes to the nearest grid position for tighter timing:

Setting quantize before recording: 1. Press the timing button (shift + tempo on some firmware versions) 2. Use X knob to select quantize resolution: 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, or OFF 3. Record your pattern — notes will snap to the grid as you play

Quantize values explained:

1/4 — Quarter notes, very loose
1/8 — Eighth notes, moderate
1/16 — Sixteenth notes, tight (most common for drums)
1/32 — Thirty-second notes, very precise
