How do I quantize my recordings?

The K.O. II automatically quantizes your recordings based on your selected note interval. You can also manually quantize individual notes or entire performances after recording.

During Recording

The device records in quantize mode by default. Your notes snap to the grid based on your timing setting (1/8, 1/16, etc.). Press TIMING, then use MINUS to toggle quantize on (snaps to grid) or PLUS to toggle free time (records as played without quantization).

After Recording

To quantize individual pads:

  1. 1.Press SHIFT + TIMING to enter timing correct mode.
  2. 2.While stopped, press any pad to quantize just that pad's notes.
  3. 3.While playing, hold a pad to quantize that pad's notes live.

This lets you fix timing issues on specific sounds without affecting your entire pattern. For example, you can tighten up just your hi-hats while leaving your snare rolls loose.

If you want to re-quantize everything, your best option is to copy the pattern (SHIFT + Group C twice), start a new pattern, and re-record with quantize enabled.
