The EP-133 supports MIDI via USB and the 3.5mm TRS jack:
USB MIDI: 1. Connect EP-133 to computer or MIDI host via USB-C 2. The EP-133 appears as a MIDI device 3. Send/receive notes, clock, and control messages
3.5mm MIDI (TRS): 1. Use a 3.5mm TRS to 5-pin DIN MIDI adapter 2. Connect to MIDI out of your controller/keyboard 3. Set EP-133 to receive on correct MIDI channel
MIDI settings: 1. Enter system settings (shift + specific button combo) 2. Navigate to MIDI configuration 3. Set MIDI channel (1-16) for each group 4. Enable/disable MIDI clock sync
What MIDI can do:
- Notes in: Play pads from external keyboard
- Notes out: Trigger external synths from EP-133 sequences
- Clock: Sync tempo with other devices
- Transport: Start/stop from external source
MIDI channel assignment:
- Each group (A, B, C, D) can have its own MIDI channel
- This lets you control different external instruments per group
- Set to "off" to disable MIDI for a group
Tip: For syncing to a DAW, set EP-133 to receive MIDI clock. This keeps everything locked to your DAW's tempo.
