How do I change the volume of an individual sound?
KO IIEP-133 volumesound leveladjust volume EP-133
To adjust volume for a single sound (not the whole group):
In sound edit mode: 1. Press sound to enter sound mode 2. Select the pad with the sound you want to adjust 3. Press shift + sound to enter sound edit 4. Find the amplitude/volume parameter 5. Use X or Y knob to adjust volume 6. Exit to save
Sound parameters:
- AMP (amplitude) — Overall volume of the sound
- Velocity — How much pad pressure affects volume
- Pan — Left/right stereo position
Per-pad vs per-group:
- Sound edit affects one specific pad
- Group fader affects all pads in that group
- Mix both for balance
Mixing tips:
- Keep kicks loud (they drive the track)
- Hi-hats slightly quieter
- Bass balanced with kick (not competing)
- Use your ears, not just eyes on levels
Alternative — use fader automation: 1. Assign fader to volume (in fader settings) 2. Select the group containing your sound 3. Record fader movements for dynamic volume changes
Note: Volume changes in sound edit are saved with the project. They persist across sessions.
