How do I build a full song?
KO IIEP-133 song modearrangementbuild song EP-133
Building a complete song on the EP-133 involves arranging scenes in song mode:
The structure: 1. Patterns — Individual loops per group (drums, bass, etc.) 2. Scenes — Snapshots of all patterns playing together 3. Song mode — Arrange scenes into a linear sequence
Step-by-step song building:
1. Create your sections:
- Scene 1: Intro (minimal, maybe just drums)
- Scene 2: Verse (add bass)
- Scene 3: Chorus (full arrangement)
- Scene 4: Breakdown (strip elements)
- etc.
2. Use commit wisely:
- Press shift + plus to save current patterns as a new scene
- Modify elements, then commit again for variations
3. Enter song mode:
- Long press main button
- Press enter or confirm
- You'll see a list of scene slots (L.01, L.02, etc.)
4. Arrange scenes:
- Assign scenes to each song position
- Use plus/minus to scroll through positions
- Turn X knob to select which scene plays at each position
5. Set scene lengths:
- Each scene can loop a set number of times
- Adjust loop count for natural song pacing
6. Play your song:
- Press play in song mode
- The EP-133 plays scenes in sequence
- Scenes transition automatically
Pro tips:
- Create 8-16 scenes for variety
- Use subtle variations (add/remove hi-hat) for interest
- Build tension by adding elements, release by removing
- Standard song: Intro → Verse → Chorus → Verse → Chorus → Breakdown → Chorus → Outro
