How do I use step sequencing?

EP-1320tutorialguide

Step sequencing on the EP-1320 lets you place notes precisely on a grid, one step at a time, without live recording. It's great for building tight, structured beats.

Getting started

First, make sure you have sounds loaded onto your paeds. Press sonus (sound) and use minus and plus to browse sounds for each paed in each group.

Navigating and placing notes

  1. 1.Press manus (main) to enter the main mode.
  2. 2.Hold altero and minus until the display shows 1.1.1 to jump to the first step.
  3. 3.Press minus and plus to move backwards and forwards through the steps.
  4. 4.Hold codex (record) and press a paed to place that sound on the current step.

Setting note interval and swing

  1. 1.Press quantum to open quantization settings. Turn knobx to change the note interval between 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/16T, and 1/32. Turn knoby to add swing.

Extending your pattern

  1. 1.Hold codex and press plus to make the pattern longer, up to 99 bars per group.

Removing notes

  1. 1.Hold erado (erase) and press a paed to remove notes. Hold erado and a paed until TRK blinks to erase all notes for that paed in the pattern.

Pro tip: Hold quantum and press a paed to trigger note repeat, filling in repeated hits automatically at the chosen note interval. Great for hi-hats.
