How do I use the built-in sounds?
EP-1320tutorialguide
The EP-1320 comes loaded with over 200 built-in samples organised by category. You assign them to the 12 paeds across four groups, then play or sequence them.
Loading sounds onto paeds
- 1.Press sonus to enter sound mode.
- 2.Press a group button (Group A, Group B, Group C, or Group D) to choose which group you want to work in.
- 3.Press one of the 12 paeds to select it.
- 4.Press minus or plus to scroll through the available sounds. The screen shows the sample number for that paed.
- 5.Repeat for the remaining paeds until your group is filled with sounds you like.
Sound categories
The built-in sounds are organised by number range:
- 1-69: drums
- 70-114: phrases
- 115-127: instruments
- 128-155: one shots
- 156-220: sfx and foley
- 221 onwards: user sounds
Tips for getting started
A good starting layout is Group A for drums, Group B for bass, Group C for melodies, and Group D for loops and samples. Press altero and minus or plus to jump through sound numbers in tens rather than one by one, which speeds up browsing. Hold a paed while in sound mode to preview its name if it has one. Built-in rom sounds cannot be deleted.
